INTRODUCTION

The Department of Physics, Women University Mardan is established in 2016 in the Main Campus of the University. The Department has currently started BS and M.Phil programs and proposes to initiate Ph. D program. The Department of Physics has provided the encouraging supervision in the subject of Pure and Applied Physics and has firm commitment to bring prolific conclusions which would help to stand the female of Pakistan in the row of Advanced Countries. The Department of Physics has delivered the courage to female students in order to get higher education in the field of Physics and promote scientific research in the country. The Department is striving in order to augment the standard of Research in Physics and will produce eminent and competent Physicists. The faculty of Physics Department carries out research in the fields of Condensed Matter Physics, Materials Science, Quantum Physics and Theoretical Physics.

The students of BS Physics finds a wide application in atomic and space organization, electronics and research laboratories. Physicists can contribute in teaching as well as research and development by instigating national and international socio-economic projects in specialized fields. Many techniques used now a days in engineering, medical sciences, nanotechnology and biotechnology are the result of advancements in Physics instrumentation. The investigative abilities that physicists study make them malleable and adaptable so that they have a good reputation as researcher. The Physicists can get jobs in various organizations like, R & D Organization, Multinational Industries, National Centre of Physics (NCP), Pakistan Nuclear Physics, Kahota Research Labs, Suparco, Research Associate in Atomic Energy Commission, Research Associate in all Departments of NESCOM, Data Analyst, High School Physics Teacher, job in College after Public Service Commission and Continue Your Education (M.Phil & Ph.D)

The Department of Physics has firm commitment to bring prolific conclusions which would help to stand the female of Pakistan in the row of Advanced Countries and where all students have the prospect to be motivated by an inspiring and supportive community.

The Department has delivered the courage to female students in order to get higher education in the field of Physics and promote scientific research in the country and progresses safe and secure environment for supporting modern standards of living.

The Department is striving in order to augment the standard of Research in Physics and will produce eminent and competent Physicists. The intellectual inspiration must be seen in the Physicists for community embracing excellence, ethics, and equality.

MISSION

 To inculcate quality education at affordable prices to its graduates, who can play vital role in building sagacious societies, dignified nations and socially responsible global community.

1. To provide a high level university education in the various fields of Pure and Applied Physics in order to enhance the global developments in science in order to overcome grand societal challenges.
2. To inspire and prepare students for high-impact careers in Physics with high degrees of efficiency and competence to be fit in the market.
3. To develop Physics with strategic skills in areas of emerging needs in order to foster a culture of engagement and service.

The main objectives of BS Physics are:

• Teaching of general and specialized courses in different fields of physics in redro to empower females.
• Provide students with basic skills in solving problems in a scientific manner based on the principles of the survey and the analysis in order to redefine the role of women in local and global communities.
• Promoting scientific research in student’s life to enable them to think critically and analyze information.
• Prepare confident, qualified and trained graduates to meet and disseminate knowledge beneficial to the humanity and nations.
• Evaluating students’ performance absolutely on the basis of academic accomplishments, skills and co-curricular activities and enhance students’ oral and written communication skills.
• Provide students with the appropriate education and skills in order to continue education in graduate programs in various universities within the country and on an international level.
• Believing in team work and develop students’ ability to produce information in order to promote independent and creative ideas and contribute to the intellectual assets of the community by participating in community services.
