Overview

Introduction

Women University Mardan established the Students Financial Aid Office in accordance with the Higher Education Commission Islamabad to provide financial help to the needy and deserving students of the University and to award scholarships under various programs. Mr. Adnan Ahmad, Assistant Registrar/Incharge, Students Financial Aid Office and his team deals all the financial matters of the needy and deserving students.

The Students’ Financial Aid Office is mainly responsible for providing all information, services, and assembling financial resources that are available to and/or needed by students in order to obtain an undergraduate or graduate degree. Financial aid resources are those that are provided by both internal (university and/or endowment funds), governmental and private agencies or organizations.

The fundamental purpose of the financial aid program is to make education possible for students who might otherwise be deprived of this higher education opportunity due to inadequate funds and /or previous limited educational opportunities.

Goals

 

  1. Award financial assistance to qualified students, according to institutional and Govt requirements and with a focus on individual student needs.
  2. Establish regular communication flow between the FAO and the students/parents.
  3. Establish essential manual and automated processes to support awarding financial aid in a timely manner.
  4. Provide individual student/parent assistance in completing necessary applications and managing personal resources as they are needed to augment financial assistance in covering educational expenses.

Scholarships available in Women University Mardan:

This is the largest ever needs-based undergraduate scholarship program in the history of Pakistan. Under this program, every year, 50,000 students from low-income families will be awarded scholarships for 4 to 5-year undergraduate degree programs. Scholarships will cover 100% of the tuition fee and a living stipend of 4,000 per month.  The geographical spread of the program covers all four provinces, AJK and GB. Students apply on an online portal: https://ehsaas.hec.gov.pk. The portal is currently closed for applications and will be reopened for the year 2021-2022 in June 2021.

Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is providing scholarships for University Students for Acedmic Year 2020-2021. 

Istrested students may apply online through www.isdb.org before 28th Feb, 2020.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) with the support of Government of Pakistan has launched  “Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Project” for the qualified students from low income families to complete undergraduate studies ( Four-Five-year Bachelor programs)  from public sector Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of Pakistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. The Project will be implemented by the HEC as an executing agency and shall be responsible for managing and monitoring of the implementation of the Project with the participating universities across Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who are currently enrolled in Undergraduate degree programs
  • Candidates who have secured admission on merit; Merit means that the student has fulfilled   admission criteria  of the respective university in which he/she intends to study
  • Age limit will be followed as per university regulations i.e. maximum age under which an applicant is allowed to take admission for offered Undergraduate programs at the university
  • Students already availing any other scholarship or grant are ineligible
  • Students who have secured admission on Self-sustain/Self- support/Self finance evening programs are ineligible
  • Distant learning students are ineligible

Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls funds graduate studies for Pakistani women in any HEC recognized university across Pakistan. Funded by the Scottish Government, these grants aim to make higher education more accessible to women, supporting them in achieving their potential and ambition. 

British Council will administer the scheme in Pakistan and coordinate with selected scholars and universities either directly or through nominated university focal persons.

The Award

Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls will facilitate award-holders with the following:

  • Tuition fees for courses in eligible fields
  • University hostel costs (where applicable)
  • Travel to and from home to university two times a year for students staying in on-campus hostels

Subject Areas

The scholarship will cover a four-year bachelor’s degree at an HEC-recognized Pakistani university in one of the following subject areas only:

  • Education 
  • Sustainable Energy
  • Food Security and Agriculture
  • Health Sciences

Eligibility Criteria

  • These scholarships are open to female applicants only. In addition, applicants must:
  • Be Pakistani nationals currently residing in Pakistan  
  • Be pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree in the above listed subject areas
  • Hold a confirmed admission offer from an HEC recognised public university in Pakistan 

Young women with disabilities, from rural areas and/or minority groups are encouraged to apply.

  • Scanned copy of CNIC
  • Scanned copy of transcripts
  • Proof of admission and/or enrolment at bachelor’s level
  • Tuition fee form

The Momina Cheema Foundation Sardar Iftikhar Scholarship Scheme (MCF Sardar Iftikhar) was incorporated to illuminate and celebrate the life and achievements of Momina Cheema by enriching the lives of future scholars and change makers in furthering their knowledge of Islamic law, culture and philosophy.

Momina Cheema Foundation supports the deserving and meritorious students.

In the year 2018, first time Women University Mardan participated in MCF Sardar Iftikhar scholarship scheme and five students (nominated by university) were awarded the scholarship.

The foundation awards an amount, 20000/- Rs. per year per student until throughout the tenure of her degree program at the university.

Women University Mardan offers a rebate on tuition fee component for the siblings of current studentsThe aim of this scheme is to encourage the community towards education in spite of the financial constraints.

It is for the information of all concerned students of M.Sc. and BS, whom real sibling (sister) is enrolled in any degree program at Women University Mardan can apply for sister-sister scholarship. The said scholarship will be awarded to real siblings (sisters) by Women University Mardan.

 

These scholarships are offered to talented and meritorious students who otherwise find it hard to pay their tuition fee and other expenses pertaining to undergraduate or graduate level studies. These scholarships are being offered purely upon merit criteria and need assessment survey.

 

Mora scholarships are being provided by Zakat Funds by Ministry of Religious Affairs through recommendation of District Zakat and Usher Office, Mardan. These scholarships are providing a support to needy and poor students.

 

Scholarship offered by Diya Foundation Pakistan covers tuition fee and other miscellaneous expenses of students. Students have been offered to apply for this scholarship scheme which will greatly enhance their chances and hope to pursue education smoothly and satisfactorily.

 

Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) provides the financial assistance only to the deserving students of Govt. Educational Institution and some specific amount is also given for the boarding. The scholarships are open throughout the year and are granted on first come first get basis.

  1. This assistance is only for the deserving students of Govt. Educational Institution and some specific amount is also given for the boarding.
  2. Apply on a plain paper along with copy of computerized CNIC to the MD, PBM. Parents can also apply for their children.
  3. Endorse your name, address for correspondence and signatures clearly along with phone no. (if any)
  4. Students should complete the “Bonafied Certificate” after getting it signed for the institute concerned along with the application. (This “Bonified Certificate can be obtained from University Photostat Shops)
  5. No over writing/amendments on the Bonified Certificate shall be acceptable.
  6. Please fill up an affidavit provided by the Pakistan Bait ul Mal Staff and submit along with the application.
  7. Do not forget to get the application registration No.  PBM officer who have received your application.
